This past week, our little city was bombarded with a pretty major snowstorm. The kind people used to hear about in California and say, "Ugh, how could you stand living there and having your life just completely shut down???"
Well the answer was and is...sometimes it is a really good thing to slow down, shut down and unplug!
My family and I really needed a break from the grind of all of our family activities: after school meetings, homework, swimming, dancing, dropping off, and picking up. Run, run as fast as you can, no one can catch you're the...chicken with its head lopped off.
It was just wonderful to unplug from the pull and push of scheduled time and find the rest, solace and renewal of a good snow storm. We rented and watched some movies...then shoveled some snow. We watched some more movies...then the neighbors blew out our latest snow with a snowblower. We took the dog for a walk...then shoveled out the driveway...and then watched another movie. You get the idea...simplify...spend time together...take time to breath...ahhhhhh....let it snow, let snow, let it snow....
The piece de resistance was on Friday when over 40 people from Rejoice! went to the local pizza place in town, ate, laughed, ate and laughed some more.
Thank you God...most of us needed to unplug.
Peace Out!
